Silt the Snake
Silt, the slithering, sly snake another (debatably) sweet friend to add to our bloom lineup for 2021!
A tiny 3D printed Ball jointed Doll kit from July 2021. These kits are put together by just 2 people and waiting times can sometimes get extensive. We are currently experiencing a large volume of orders so please be patient. If patience isn’t your thing (we understand!) our kits may not be for you.
Silt comes with a default open eyed face., a delicate crown and super long jointed tail. In our advent event in December, further parts may be released for the snakes but we could not get them to where we wanted in time. An optional horned smirking snake faceplate is available separately. The crown colour is automatically sent in the same colour as the tail but white, flux and slip crowns will all be available in a separate listing.
Please refer to the LAST listing for accurate tail colours. These are MORE muted and darker than they appear in the photos.
As these are a kit for you to finish at home, there will be flaws and marks that can be easily sanded away. This is a normal part of the production process and nothing to worry about. You must spray your doll ENTIRELY with uv cut sealant to protect them from the sun. Since they are made of a photopolymer resin, this step is vital to keep your bloom safe and strong for years to come. INVEST IN A DECENT MASK and always wear when working with resin or sealant.
This is a fun little project that can take anywhere from 1-3 hours depending on your skill level. They will be sent unstrung so that you can work on the parts easily and all magnets and elastic will be provided as a part of the kit.
Eyes are available separately as well as wig kits for you to make wigs for your bloom. Tutorial to come soon.

Scissors
1.5mm crochet hook is incredibly useful but not necessary.
Lower grit sandpaper (600+ if sanding by hand) or a dremel with abrasive ‘fuzzy’ attachment.
High Grit sandpaper (1500+) for finishing
UV Cut spray.

Same upper body as the Mermaids
2 Pairs of hands
1 Crown
1 fully jointed tail
This bloom will be sent with all elastic and magnets required to put them together. We use a tension bar system in the neck so no S-hook is included.
Do not forget to spray the entire doll with UV cut spray after sealing! This will protect her resin!

I will be honest and say that I wasn’t really vibing with the snakes at all this month. I felt they were too close to August, so at the last minute (Monday before release) I made Kiln’s face and now I absolutely adore him! I love the default Silt face too, especially with the ornate little crown, but there’s something about a cheeky exaggerated expression, I really enjoy.
I think that these could be dressed up to be incredibly exotic and you could mix and match the upper halves with mermaids from last month if you wanted to!
